I think this is a normal correction in many sectors that have gotten way ahead of themselves (gold/PMs, emerging markets, small cap cyclical and industrial stocks, etc.). If you are like nearly all small investors, you will be too late in selling and too late in re-entering the market when it heads upward again.
The following is for those long term investors, especially for Fat Fat Chicken：
Do yourself a favor --- avoid looking at your long-term holdings everyday, rebalance your sector allocation holdings once or twice a quarter, sit back, and stop worrying about Armageddon or the "imminent" collapse of the economy. And, oh yes--- avoid doing things that are excessively greedy or stupid, such as piling into gold and junior miners after they have gone parabolic for 3-4 months.
I think this is a normal correction in many sectors that have gotten way ahead of themselves (gold/PMs, emerging markets, small cap cyclical and industrial stocks, etc.). If you are like nearly all small investors, you will be too late in selling and too late in re-entering the market when it heads upward again.
